In Memoriam

Thomas J. Bartko, 87, of Glassport, died peacefully Friday, April 5, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late John and Rose (Dobos) Bartko; and beloved husband of the late Genevieve (Moritz) Bartko. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Tim) Bowles, of Cedar Hill, Texas, Christine (John) Considine, of Poland, Ohio, Cynthia (Ken) Medved, of White Oak, Eric (Linda) Bartko, of Glassport, Fred (Belinda) Bartko, of Lincoln Borough, and Monica (Bruce) Butt, of Glassport; brother, Daniel (Liz) Bartko, of Glassport; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews.

Tom was a retired electrician for US Steel Irvin Works, was a member of St. Mark’s Parish in Liberty Borough and served as a Navy boatswain in World War II. Tom will be remembered for always having a smile on his face and a kind word to everyone. Friends will be received at Wojciechowski Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark’s Parish, Liberty Borough, with the Rev. Daniel Straughn. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.
